Craft
Melanie Craft's first novel, a romance set in Kenya, began as a school project and was later published by Silhouette Books. She is also the author of "Trust Me" (Warner, 2003) and the romantic comedy "Man Trouble" (Warner 2004). Her books have been described by critics as "well-written romance" (
Booklist), "truly sweet" (
Publishers Weekly) and "irresistible" (
Romantic Times Magazine). She has a degree in anthropology from Oberlin College, and also studied archaeology at the University of Pittsburgh and the American University in Cairo, Egypt. She lives in California, dividing her time between San Francisco and Los Angeles, and is an active supporter of local charitable groups, including the
Peninsula Humane Society, where she serves on the board of directors. Together with her husband Lawrence Ellison, she is a director of the
Ellison Medical Foundation, a nonprofit that funds cutting-edge research into cures for the diseases of aging, such as cancer, diabetes, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. She is currently writing her fourth novel.
